BARBIZON MODELS CATCH THE EYES OF PROS IN NEW YORK CITY
Some ET talent took NYC by storm at the semiannual International Modeling and Talent Association convention in July. Barbizon School of Knoxville took 21 youngsters to the event, which included more than 650 top fashion and talent agents, managers, casting directors and industry professionals from all over the world. The youths did fashion runway modeling, performed monologues and auditioned for television commercials, daytime and primetime dramas, and sitcoms.
Jared Kelly, 15, created a lot of buzz. He raked in $2,200 in cash prizes and received a T.J. Stein scholarship from the Stein Entertainment Group, a West Hollywood company that specializes in nurturing young talent. Jared was named Most Sought After Male and Jr. Male Model of the Year.
Rachel Rigsby garnered cash prizes and seven awards. The 7-year-old was first runner-up in the Female Model of the Year and caught the eyes of MMG of New York and Moonstar Management. Harrison Williams, 9, won six awards at IMTA and a $3,000 scholarship from M.P. Management, and received an invitation to audition for Disney.
